About DonorIndex
DonorIndex is an independent reference for what US sperm banks actually pay donors — built because that information is scattered, inconsistent, and often inflated across the banks' own marketing and third-party directories. Every figure here traces to a primary source and is dated.
Built and edited by David P. — who builds comparison sites to shed light on opaque, confusing industries for the consumers trying to navigate them.
Why it exists
A man deciding whether to donate has to compare pay across a dozen banks that each describe it differently — a per-donation rate here, an “up to” monthly ceiling there, an annual total somewhere else — with part of the money often deferred for months. We put those on one honest ruler: what you can realistically earn, what you walk out with at a visit, and what a bank simply doesn't disclose.
Independent, and how we're funded
DonorIndex isn't owned by a sperm bank, clinic, or trade body, and no bank pays for placement, ranking, or a better number. We currently run no affiliate links and earn no referral fees — the outbound links go straight to each bank's own application. If that ever changes, we'll label it clearly, and it will never change a figure, a label, or a sort order. If honesty and a payout ever conflicted, the data wins; that's the whole reason the site is worth anything.
How the data is gathered
Compensation, requirements, and locations come from each bank's own donor pages — not aggregators or secondhand estimates. Where a bank doesn't publish something, we mark it Hidden or Not published rather than guess, and where we calculate a monthly figure we label it derived. Accuracy is the entire product, so a correction is the single most useful thing you can send. If a bank has changed its pay, or a number here doesn't match a bank's own page, send it below — a link to the bank's own page is what lets us verify and log the fix fast. Prefer email?
