Sperm donor pay

18 sperm banks, 11 donor agencies.
Here's what they pay.

Two ways to get paid: walk-in banks pay a recurring monthly wage ($35–$2,400/mo); directed / known-donor agencies pay a per-cycle fee ($5k–$100k) set by the family. Every figure verified from the program's own site.

Where you can donate

Walk-in banks are location-specific — pick a state with one you can drive to. The 11 known-donor agencies work in all 50 states, so that route is open wherever you live.

Chips are states with a walk-in bank; a state with one bank links to its profile, several open a comparison. No chip means no physical bank there yet — but the nationwide agencies still cover it. See the full directory →

The two models

Bank wage vs. directed donation

At a bank you earn a recurring wage over a 6–12 month commitment, part deferred into FDA escrow. With a directed / known-donor agency, intended parents pay a per-cycle fee — far higher, but you're matched to one specific family. It's also the practical route for gay and MSM donors: The Seed Scout and MySpermBank welcome them explicitly.

Bank vs. known donor: the real numbers

What banks don't want you to compare

Banks hide per-visit rates to prevent comparison shopping. They count every web form submission as an applicant to claim "less than 1% accepted." They use escrow to shift attrition risk onto donors. We show all of it — including what we can't verify.

Every figure comes from a bank's own website — not aggregators or secondhand estimates. Where a bank advertises pay as “up to,” we say so; where we calculate a monthly figure from a per-donation rate, we mark it derived; where a bank hides its pay, we flag it rather than guess.
